I am very behind on posting this — I’ve discovered that life doesn’t pause at all when your book comes out, however much it feels like it should. It’s been a week and a bit since Glimpse was launched, but I’m still living on the happy memories of my launch party (and literally living on leftover nibbles!). I had a bit of a ‘do’ at my agency’s bookshop Lutyens & Rubinstein in Notting Hill. L&R is just the most stylish shop — I love the layout and the book art hanging from the ceiling. We held the launch downstairs, in the area where the L&R agents work their book deal magic. Despite the fact England were...
I had such a blast at the Glimpse launch party on Thursday night — more details and pictures to come! Being a chocolatier, I made some special bars for the launch featuring Glimpse wrappers, and Atom Books are kindly offering a box of eight to give away! (Dairy-free, gluten-free, and sweetened with coconut palm sugar — just so you know.) Head here to enter (UK only). Picture via @LandRAgency Share...
After five years living in my head, Glimpse is finally out in the wild! I’m so incredibly excited. First reviews have been lovely… Glimpse lived up to my expectations, it’s a debut Kendra Leighton should be proud of and I can’t wait to see what this author does next. – Luna’s Little Library Overall this is a fun easy read that will really grab hold of you and not let go (ghostly fingers and all!) – Eventide Reads For any fan of ghost stories, or any fan of YA, in fact, Glimpse is a great read that I’d absolutely recommend. – Ashleigh Online Most of all, I want to say a huge… …to everyone who’s read blog...
Five years to the month since I started Glimpse, two years since signing with my agent, a year and a half since finding a publisher, my debut is a week from being released! To celebrate, I’m touring a few of my favourite blogs, starting tomorrow. I’ll come back here each day and add links to the posts, but if you want to get ahead of the game here’s where I’ll be… Friday 13th, Bookish Treasures — Guest post: How ‘The Highwayman’ Poem Inspired me to Write Glimpse Saturday 14th, Eventide Reads — Review and Giveaway Sunday 15th, Project UKYA — Guest post: Five Ways Glimpse Changed from First...
Thanks very much to fellow author Sarah Naughton for tagging me to write a Seven Things You Don’t Know About Me post. Check out Sarah’s post here (her second fact has me intrigued!). Here are my seven… 1. I have eaten chicken feet, fried bug larvae, and barbecued baby birds. They were all disgusting in their own way. (The joints of chicken feet move when you eat! Bug larvae are crunchy on the outside and squidgy on the inside, like a really gross inside-out Dime Bar!) All part of living in China for a year, and not wanting to say ‘no’ when my table-mates ordered something unusual. It’s been almost ten years, but the memory of some...
