Best Book Read in June & July: A KISS IN THE DARK by Cat Clarke

My reading for the last couple of months has been rubbish. My life went into overdrive the day after Glimpse released — but sadly not for book related reasons — and has only just stopped for a few days’ breather. Now I’ve got a little free time, I’m trying to use it for writing rather than diving into my massive TBR pile…though I wish I could do both! Over the last couple of months I’ve read: The Fearless by Emma Pass – a post-apocalyptic story about a girl trying to keep her brother safe from an army of violent, mind-altered people. A unique idea and a refreshing zombie story without zombies. Crossing my fingers for a...

Interview with Ghostwriter Emma Newrick

Today, I’m delighted to be interviewing Emma Newrick. Emma and I studied at university together, and Emma has since gone on to do amazing writerly things — including ghostwriting. Not knowing much about ghostwriting, but being very intrigued by it, I decided to ask her some questions. Though I am slightly sad her work does not involve this…   …it’s still fascinating stuff. I’m not going to try to summarise the various panels and workshops, because a) I didn’t go to that many, and b) other people have already done it so well elsewhere. (I especially like the two posts on Rants of Being a Bitter Northerner, which summarise various events. See them here and here.) Panels, workshops and signings all took place simultaneously, and workshops...

YALC & the Fringe — come say hi!

The UK’s first ever Young Adult Literary Conference is almost here! I’m so very excited to be heading down to London for it at the weekend. The schedule of panels, workshops, and signings looks amazing (take a look here — I personally have no idea how I’ll fit in everything I want to do). It’ll also be so lovely to meet in real life (real life!) lots of authors, bloggers and readers I’ve only met on the internet thus far. If you spot me, please do say hi. Though I’m not attending the actual conference as an Author with a capital A, I’ll be joining other authors at the Fringe on Saturday evening to sign books and hand out...
