Best Book Read in October: SOLITAIRE by Alice Oseman

Read in October: Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve — one I’ve wanted to read for a long time. Set in a future where cities are on wheels and eat one another, this is the most original book I’ve read in ages. It’s also a perfect example of an author making life as hard as possible for his characters — constant twists, turns and disasters. The Next Together by Lauren James — this isn’t actually out until next September, so I was lucky to be able to read it so early. A ‘reincarnation romance’ set across numerous timeframes from the 1700s to several decades in the future — it’s all very clever. I’m looking forward to...
