Update + Books Read in March 2017
So, something new happened in the last month — I had a baby! Part of me thought that might be the end of this (already quite neglected) blog, as my days are now filled with feeding and nappy changing, and even when my baby sleeps he does it a lot of the time on me. It’s tricky to do much in the way of writing, social media, blogging, or even reading when you only have one hand free for a portion of the day, and zero hands free the rest of the time. January Update
January’s been an unusual month. I’ve read hardly anything. Instead, I’ve: a) Worked a lot. b) Marathoned every single episode of Breaking Bad. Yes, I’m years behind everyone else, and yes, it was clever and dramatic and *amazing*. c) Been preparing for a life change which is happening soon. (I’ll blog briefly at some point to explain my increasing online absence, but it basically involves an oven and a bun.) Here’s what I did read. (Three books! Writing Update: Dreaming
It feels like a long time since I blogged about writing. Somewhere along the line, this blog has become rather more like a reader blog than an author one, mostly because I really do love talking about other people’s books. If writing wasn’t my first priority, I’d love to be a full-on book blogger! However, I’ve been thinking for a while that, when I start a new novel, I’d like to blog every now and then about the process. 2016 Writing & Reading Goals
Happy New Year! Hope you’re all recovered from last night, stuffed with the last of the mince pies, and excited for 2016. I certainly am! Writing Goals I didn’t have much I could shout about in 2015. But I did still do lots of writing — putting to rest a manuscript I’d been working on since 2010, and getting close to finishing a major re-draft of another project — both of which I still count as achievements! In early 2016, I plan to get my newest manuscript polished and off to my agent. Depending on what happens with that, I’d love to start a new writing project this year.
